Winner of the 2019 Herald Sun Aria Competition, Georgia Wilkinson is making her mark on the Operatic stage. With over 12 years of experience performing, Georgia Wilkinson is fast making a name for herself as one of Australia’s most versatile young sopranos.

Georgia graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School at the age of 17 and completed a Bachelor of Music specialising in classical voice. In 2022 Georgia graduated with a Bachelor of Psychological Science with distinction and is continuing her studies to achieve her Masters of Counselling.
Georgia has progressively built her repertoire of operatic and musical theatre credits. Companies she has worked with include Opera Australia, Victorian Opera, Left Bauer Productions, Weimar Lyric Opera Studio (Germany) and Royal Caribbean.

Whilst studying at Melbourne University, she became the youngest Opera Scholar of the Year in the history of the program and the Robert Salzer Voice Awardee. After graduating from Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in late 2014, Georgia undertook her professional debut as Sophie in Left Bauer’s production of MasterClass, which received rave reviews.

Following the success of her professional debut, Georgia was invited to take part in an intensive opera summer program in Italy, before undertaking her international operatic debut as Pamina Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) in Weimar, Germany.
Supported by grants from the Ian Potter Foundation and the Australia Council for the Arts, Georgia has studied opera abroad in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States, where she’s had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most renowned vocal coaches.

Georgia’s recent career highlights include being featured in Sydney’s Carols in the Domain as one of Australia’s finest upcoming opera singers. Starring in Victorian Opera’s production of Alice Through the Opera Glass, being a part of Gertrude Opera’s 2019 Young Artist Program, performing on her first Bravo Cruise of the Performing Arts, performing in the Sydney Town Hall and the concert performances of Jekyll and Hyde. In 2021 Georgia is singing the title role in Victorian Opera’s award-winning production of Sleeping Beauty, the role of Adelaide in The Enchanted Pig for Australian the Contemporary Opera Company and the role of Lisette in La Rondine for National Opera. In 2022 Georgia understudied the role of Christine Daaé in Opera Australia’s Sydney Harbour production of Phantom of the Opera, the role of Dorothy in Il mago di Oz (The Wizard of Oz) for Victorian Opera and was hand selected by Composer Claude-Michel Schönberg and Librettist/Lyricist Alain Boublil for the Australian Tour of Do You Hear The People Sing.

2023, Georgia is excited to make her international debut in the iconic role of Christine Daaé in Phantom of the Opera. The production is auspiced by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group. Her program commences in Athens in February and later moves to the Middle East, to countries where professional performances of Phantom have never been staged. Following this, the production will return to Western Europe.
